Secondhand Lions.....
Today was the first time I saw the whole movie. It was really good. That was probably my favorite line.
I believe in a lot of things that aren't true. Like Santa Claus. Not the man, per se, but the spirit. And I tell my kids, even at 24 and 16 that, if they don't believe in Santa Claus a la "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus," then there is no reason for presents or celebration at Christmas. They moan and groan, but they understand the concepts I'm talking about, and even my son, who believes the world is coming to an end within 20 years, and that our bodies are literally turning into high-fructose corn syrup as we speak, is willing to say that he believes in my version of "Santa Claus," albeit very cynically.
That's just one example. There really are lots of things that aren't "true" or don't "exist" that I believe in. And, if I believe in something, if you believe in something, if anybody believes in anything, doesn't that necessarily make that/those something(s) true and real?
As Pablo Picasso said, "Everything you can imagine is real." I believe that, too.

Il y a de ces jours....
Aujourd'hui je suis triste. C'est la fete des meres aux US et je ne me sens plus mere. Fabrice est malheureux dans son travail,mais veut a tout prix sa nationalite et une chance a etre flic ici.
De toutes facons, meme si on voulait tout abandonner et rentrer, ce que je veux aujourd'hui, on ne peut pas. Les aeroports a Paris et Nice sont de nouveau ferme pour cause de nuage de cendres. Il nous faudrait donc atterir dans le nord de l'Allemagne, en Pologne, ou en Espagne, puis prendre le train.
Alors, comme nous sommes obliges par les circonstances et phenomenes naturelles de rester ici, il vaut autant continuer mon boulot, malgre les difficultes que cela presente. Au moins ca paie les factures!! LOL
Le 27 nous emmenageons dans notre nouvel appartement. Je vais publier les photos dans mon prochain billet.
