Writing What I Know

They tell you to write what you know.
Okay, then, well...
I know pain,
I know anger,
I know resentment, and anguish and despair.
I know hatred,
I know bitterness,
I know ignorance, and bigotry and isolation.
I know arrogance,
I know loneliness,
I know anxiety, depression, and fear.

But then, I must admit...
I know laughter,
I know music,
I know smiles, and hope, and tenderness.
I know children,
I know company,
I know friendship, and love, and support in the dark times.
I know affection,
I know warm winds and seaside breezes,
I know kindness, and security, and the world.

So, pray tell, dear reader...
What do I write about now?
